Whether you’re stressed, worried or just looking for a good place to unwind we have the best places on campus where you can relax and take it all in.
- Scientia Lawn
If you’re after nice patch of greenery surrounded by some modern and not so modern architecture, then this is the place for you. The Scientia lawn just underneath our iconic main library is the perfect place to wind down after a long day. It’s cut off from the main hustle of the library and library lawn, so it makes for a perfect place to relax and ponder all things science like maybe Newton’s theories or Kepler’s laws?
- Scientia Rooftop
Ever wanted to overlook the campus at sunset, well don’t we have the place for you. Only a few metres away from the Scientia lawn is the John Nillard Scientia rooftop which boosts a stunning view that covers the global lawn all the way to the university’s main walkway. The spot is the best for breathing in those spring feels when September comes around and even better for pondering the universe endlessly.
- Basser College Lawn
Situated halfway through the Basser steps is a hidden gem overlooked by the student accommodation and it’s possibly the quietest spot on campus. Filled with greenery accompanied by wooden benches and power points it’s the perfect spot to relax and recharge. 😉
- Naked Lady Lawn
Tucked away between the Old Main Building and Red Centre is our #1 pick, the Naked Lady Lawn. The Naked Lady Lawn, which is named after the statue it boasts is another quiet, shaded location on campus that lacks student traffic and in our opinion is the perfect spot to unwind. With the relaxing sound of water running and lack of wind it makes for a serene experience every time.
Special mentions: Physics lawn, Goldstein courtyard, all the carpark rooftops and UNSW village lawns (includes the two trunked tree and fig trees next to the Whitehouse).
